Año De La Independencia -- Ahora O Nunca.
Translation:
Year Of Independence -- Now Or Never.
Description:

The background of the sticker the a flag from the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, a country located on the eastern coast of Africa, also known as the Western Sahara. The Western Sahara was a province of Spain until 1975 when the Franco dictatorship ended. Spain gave the soveiernty of the territory to Morrocco and kept the administrative control for itself. Over the years the United Nations has been advocating for the decolonization of the territory without success. The sticker refers to an event that took place in 1998 when the UN annouced a referendum that would decide the fate of the territory with a December 8th election for the decolonization process to begin. Today, the people there live as prisoners on the land under the very strict regime of the Moroccan government. Spain remains responsible for their situation and to this day there have still not been enough votes to grant the Western Sahara their freedom. In the bottom right corner of the sticker the red and yellow lines represent the flag of Aragon in Spain and more so the activist group, Friends of the Saharawi People in Aragon.
