Caged monkey

Text:
Encierro y sometimiento
Translation:
Zoos degrade animals. Lockdown and subjugation.
Description:

Black and white photo of a monkey looking out from behind bars in an enclosure similar to a human in a jail cell. Comparing a monkey in a zoo cage to a human in prison personifies the experience of animals in such enclosures. The bars and cramped minimal space in the enclosure are not at all like the animal’s wild, natural environment. The words “lockdown” and “subjugation” further personify the monkey. “Víctimas del progreso-Crímes de Estado” is not an official organization, but rather a phrase common among Spanish anarchists. The red logo with the A within a circle indicates anarchist ideologies.
